Brucine Sulphate  

Is the sulfate salt of brucine, an alkaloid closely related to strychnine, derived from the seeds of the Strychnos nux-vomica tree and other Strychnos species. Brucine is less toxic than strychnine but still possesses potent toxic and bitter properties. It is often used in analytical chemistry, particularly in the chiral resolution of racemic mixtures, and as a reagent for various chemical tests. Brucine Sulphate appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder.
