Bitumin Powder

Industrial grade material. Will comes in polypack or corrugated box packaging.

Bitumin powder is a finely ground form of bitumen, also known as asphalt. It is a dark brown to black substance, composed of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons derived from the distillation of crude oil. Bitumin powder is primarily used in construction and industrial applications where it serves as a binding and waterproofing agent. It is known for its adhesive properties, durability, and resistance to water, chemicals, and environmental degradation.

Applications

• Road Construction:
  • Bitumin powder is used as a binder in the production of asphalt concrete, which is employed for paving roads, highways, and airport runways. It provides durability and resistance to traffic wear and weather conditions.
• Waterproofing:
  • Used in roofing materials, waterproof membranes, and coatings to provide a waterproof barrier. It is also applied in damp-proofing and protecting foundations from moisture penetration.
• Industrial Coatings:
  • Employed in protective coatings for pipelines, metal structures, and storage tanks to prevent corrosion and environmental damage.
• Sealing and Adhesive Products:
  • Used in the manufacture of sealants, adhesives, and crack fillers for construction and repair work.
• Paints and Inks:
  • Bitumin powder is used as a pigment and binder in certain industrial paints and inks, especially those requiring water resistance and durability.

Handling and Safety

• Handling:
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing to avoid direct contact with the skin and eyes.
  • Handle in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhalation of dust particles. If dust is generated, use appropriate dust suppression or containment methods.
  • Avoid generating dust; ensure that all handling processes minimize dust production.
• Storage:
  • Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from sources of heat, ignition, and strong oxidizing agents.
  • Keep containers tightly closed to prevent contamination and moisture absorption.
• Safety Precautions:
  • Inhalation: Inhalation of dust may cause respiratory irritation. Move to fresh air immediately and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
  • Skin Contact: Prolonged or repeated contact may cause skin irritation or dermatitis. Wash thoroughly with soap and water if contact occurs.
  • Eye Contact: Dust or particles can cause eye irritation. Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
  • Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed. Seek immediate medical attention and do not induce vomiting unless instructed by medical personnel.
• Disposal:
  • Dispose of in accordance with local, regional, and national regulations. Avoid release into the environment due to potential toxicity to aquatic life.

First Aid Measures

• Inhalation: Move to fresh air immediately. Seek medical attention if breathing difficulties occur.
• Skin Contact: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing.
• Eye Contact: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
• Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water and seek immediate medical attention.
